We carried out an audit of their website which consisted of over two hundred web pages with some sections containing six levels of sub-navigation.
A comprehensive user research phase for the external and internal audience was conducted. Using these insights and the content audit we introduced more intuitive labelling and restricted all sections to a maximum of three levels of sub-navigation.
Once the site structure had been approved we began work on a comprehensive set of wireframes for desktop, tablet and mobile. The wireframes were reviewed by end user focus groups to ensure the proposed page layouts and new site structure were easy to understand and intuitive.
The design phase included four colour versions for different business units, a web style guide, an icon library and copywriting for the entire site. A key consideration was to ensure our designs met WCAG AAA accessibility guidelines which we achieved.
